Who must follow wildfire rules?
If your property is in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, roughly 1 in 8 homes in the City of LA, Zone Zero applies to you. The contractor confirms your parcel's zone status during the free assessment.
What is the 0–5 foot zone?
Zone Zero is the first 5 feet around your home. Under AB 3074 it must be kept free of combustible material: mulch, dead vegetation, and wood fencing attached to the house.
What do I need to change?
Phase 1 clears combustible material from the zone. Phase 2 replaces built items like wood fences and gates. The assessment maps both phases to your specific property.
When are the deadlines?
